Mr Jon Hughes, SENCo

Talk to Mr Hughes if you need help with Special Educational Needs (or if you like beards!).  Mr Hughes also teaches in Year 2 and will be on the gates on Florence Place most days.  Mr Hughes loves rugby and keeping fit!

Miss Kirsty Cargill, Year 1 Leader and Deputy Headteacher

Miss Cargill has been our EYFS leader for many years and is currently taking last year's Covid-hit Reception year to Year 1.  She is passionate about Continuous Provision and child-initiated learning.  She also leads on reading.  In Dr Mitchell's absence, Miss Cargill will be happy to help with any queries.  Miss Cargill sings, plays piano and enjoys walking.

Mrs Victoria Brewer, Year 2 Leader

Pronouns: She/Her

Mrs Brewer is the main point of contact for safeguarding concerns.  She liaises with other child protection professionals, and works tirelessly to ensure our children are supported and safe.  She has successfully led phonics for several years and has moved to support our Year 2s coming back after Covid.  Mrs Brewer loves singing and drama and is an accomplished performer who shares her passion with the children.

Miss Alison Harrex, Reception Leader

Pronouns: She/Her

Miss Harrex believes in the importance of supporting children to be independent learners, taking ownership of their own development and working collaboratively.  She leads on writing and supports staff to provide creative contexts for writing while giving them high quality teaching.  She loves sport, animals, art and music.

All of the leadership team work closely together to run and develop the school.  Their priority is the wellbeing and learning of the children, enabled by developing and supporting the staff team.  If you have any concerns or questions, please see your child's teacher in the first instance, and then we will be happy to help further.
